The unit replaces the
now discontinued Sony UP-51MD. The new
UP-55MD is ideal for diagnostic imaging
systems and has applications in medical
facilities that provide ultrasound
imaging and endoscopy. The printer is
also an ideal peripheral for mobile
C-Arm units and other medical and
scientific applications.
Featuring a smaller
footprint than its predecessor, the
UP-55MD medical printer also provides an
advanced feature to easily capture
system images: a Sony MicroVault™ 128 MB
Flash Memory portable storage device
packaged with the printer. Users can now
insert any USB device into the printer
to download still images from the
printer. These images can then be
downloaded to any compatible PC or
laptop computer for medical reporting,
PowerPoint® presentations, referrals,
consultations, or educational purposes.
Currently, the flash memory functions as
a uni-directional device, meaning that
images cannot be printed on the printer
directly from the USB Flash Memory
device.
In addition to the
new MicroVault flash memory, the UP-55MD
produces photo-like quality five by
seven inch A5 prints in only 20 seconds.
The unit also features a smaller
footprint than its predecessor at 11 1/8
inches wide and 15¾ inches deep. The dye
sublimation printer provides standard
379 dots per inch resolution with over
256 gradations for yellow, magenta, and
cyan resulting in over 16 million color
gradations. Inputs include RGB, S-Video,
and Composite. Output can be printed in
one, two, four or eight up format. The
new printer comes packaged with a 100
Sheet Starter Pack of paper, one ribbon,
and the USB 128MB MicroVault Flash
Memory device
